GUIDE DOGS - Community Fundraiser (Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire)

£19,538- £20,688 per annum pro rata

To maximise sustainable financial support  from  local communities within the MT area for Guide Dogs. To create, manage and develop community fundraising initiatives with volunteers as individuals or in branches, groups. SME’s and schools. To cultivate and engage volunteers, supporters and donors with Guide Dogs at key stages of the supporter journey.

£7.3 million in funding from the Department for Education

Merton Council has secured an extra £7.3 million in funding from the Department for Education to help with its school expansion plans to accommodate the 39% increase in births in the borough. 

The extra money, in addition to the original £7 million school building grant for 2012-13, brings the total extra government funding for school building to £14.3 million. This will give a significant boost to the council's £53 million school expansion programme.

Catchment Restoration Fund for England - A £28m fund

The Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) has created the Catchment Restoration Fund.

The fund will support work that aims to:restore more natural features in and around waters;reduce the impact of man-made structures on wildlife in waters; or reduce the impact of small, spread-out (diffuse) sources of pollution that arise from rural and urban land use.
